Organic Lemon Extract and BreathiZen™
Organic lemon extract brings the bright note of the lemon, a fruit grown without synthetic pesticides.
In brief
- From the fruit of Citrus limon
- Organic means grown to organic farming rules
- Bright, fresh citrus aroma
- One of three named plants
What it is
The lemon is a small citrus tree with bright yellow fruit. Its peel holds fragrant oils, and its juice is sour from natural citric acid. Lemons are also a well-known source of vitamin C. Sailors in the 1700s carried lemons and limes on long voyages for that reason. Today lemon shows up in kitchens, drinks, cleaning cupboards and, in extract form, on supplement labels.
Where it comes from
Lemons probably began in northeast India and nearby regions and later spread along trade routes to the Mediterranean. Today California, Spain, Italy and many other warm places grow them. Organic lemons are grown under organic farming rules, which limit synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
Why it is in BreathiZen
